I’ve traveled American, Southwest and United airlines with my firearm. Though I was a little nervous about American and especially United, I had success both coming and going. I read forum discussions warning against ever traveling with a firearm on United but the person who had an awful experience filed a suit against them and it caused some major changes for the better for the rest of us.

The nightmare the gentlemen encountered was stickers labeled on the outside of his luggage signaling any would-be thieves that there was a firearm in your luggage to grab and run. When I flew with United in October, 2015, they did not put stickers on the outside of my luggage and though I had to wait for a TSA officer to release me from the counter area, they were very discreet in how they signaled me it was okay to depart for my gate.
