When I was about 10-11 years old, I sang in public a lot at different sized auditoriums and quite frankly, I was scared of all those faces staring at me. Then my dad shared with me one day about how every individual puts their pants on one leg at a time. It doesn’t make them special – just normal. I had no clue “why” he told me that right before time to get up and sing in front of a huge crowd but when I got up there and looked out over the people I began to giggle – quietly on the inside.
You know, dad was pretty smart. By getting me to see people for what they really were I wasn’t intimidated by them anymore.
